A proven technology re-imagined to meet the needs of artists, collectors and the market.

RFID tags operate in demanding situations – shipping containers, large warehouses, extreme temperatures, exposure to industrial chemicals, wind or water.  Increasingly, tags are used to provide security for high-value assets such as pharmaceuticals, luxury apparel and jewelry

ID4Arts has re-engineered RFID to meet the specific needs of the art market.  Our antenna, chip and materials combine to create a tamper-resistant tag, one that resists attempts to remove it by art thieves, petty criminals or a criminally minded employee.

Instead of making it rugged, ID4Arts has designed the identifier to fail.  While maintaining RFID’s record for reliability, the ID4Arts identifier will break communication and alert the reader upon any attempt to pull, peel, or remove by solvent.  The substances used under this patent pending process are at the limits of materials science in the RFID world.

By using a battery-less version of RFID, the tag is permanently attached with zero risk to the work
